Two months ago I told my HMO infectious diseasesi doctor that I thought my atrial fibrillations, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc. were caused by a long-standing CPNi infection. She didn't believe me, and to prove me wrong she ordered a blood test.
To her considerable surprise, my CPN titer came back 512. I don't remember whether that was IgAi, IgG, or IgM, but I'm pretty sure that 512 is pretty high regardless of which antibody she was testing for. She prescribed a ten-day course of doxycycline, which did absolutely nothing.
I'm going to see her again in a few weeks and I want her to order another test. My guess is that my titer will be about the same as it was two months ago. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this? Thanks. Russ Farris
