CAP and its impact on the gut?

So, I tested postive a few months ago to Cpn via a test from Armin Labs. I didn't know anything about Cpn before, but I soon realized that it might be an explanation for the fatigue I've been feeling in the last 15 years. I have also been struggling a lot from my childhood until recently (I'm in my mid 30s) with chronic lung infections and episodes of never-ending dry cough.

Therefore, I've planned to try CAP soon.

However, my main concern so far is related to the impact of long-term CAP on the gut. Especially because I might also suffer from a leaky-gut/dysbiosis.

I have been taking pre/probiotics in the last 4 months before starting the CAP, as advocated by my doctor.

But I am still a bit concerned by the impact of CAP on good bacteria. And repopulating your macrobiome seems always tricky.

Any insights or expericences from your side?

Well, I don't think that I have or had a leaky gut, but I never had any trouble when taking long-term antibiotics: apart from making sure that I took plenty of pre/probiotics two hours apart from taking any antibiotics, I drank either life yoghurt or live kefir in addition.....................Sarah
