Can the NAC Test yield a false negative?

Hi all,

I have suspected a CPNi infection for some time, and after getting on the "basic" supplementsi for a while, started taking NACi 7 days ago (600 mg both in the morning and at night).  I have experienced no reaction whatsoever.  I will up the dose to 1.2g morning and night starting tomorrow and perhaps will see something then.  I have two questions for CPN vets:

1) Does the NAC test ever yield a false negative?  I found something from a poster in the message archives stating that it is indeed possible, but there was no elaboration on that point.

2) Can I infer from my lack of response to a daily dose of 1.2g that my CPN infection, if any, is not that severe or deep-rooted?  If it matters at all, I suspect I have been infected by CPN for over a decade.

Thanks!

The usual dosage is 2400 mg a day.  Even after seven years, it makes me a little foggy, tottery, and slow.   Once you begin the abxi, and later flagyli or tinii, you may very well get reaction.  I believe that some people don't react to NACi strongly, but it is still very good for us in several ways on this protocol in any form.

It would be helpful if you did a signature.
