caffeine

I was thinking of starting caffeine to my list of vitamins.  Will this stop the replicating of chlamydia?  Will this give me energy?  Where would i buy this product?  Thank you for any interested and knowlegable person to help me with this.   Chipper

Chipper dont start caffeine it will only make your infection grow faster. If caffeine is used as treatment it must be with CAP treatment and timed with antibiotics. Best Wishes from Maria

You should know that caffeine isn't an "official" part of the CAP and you don't have to use it.  I tried it myself for about 3-1/2 months and I stopped using it because it became too much to deal with.  It may have been working by exciting the CB stage of Cpn back into RB or EB stage, making it easier to kill...but...that comes with a cost.  You can do this without that cost.  Don't even get stuck on caffeine, it's not necessary.

Just so you know, I became a caffeine addict before I even tried pairing it with antibiotics.  I was taking 1400mg/day....which is 7 of those little yellow caffeine pills.  My adrenals were drained and caffeine no longer had the effect on me that it should have had.

So, just don't do it, it's unnecessary and there are too many questions that haven't been answered about it.

best, John

RRMS/EDSS was 4.5, 5, 6, 6.5, 6.9999, 6.5 on Wheldon/Stratton Protocol beginning 04/12/2006
nac 4x600 mg/day
doxycycline 2x100mg/day
azithromycin 3x250mg/day MWF
metronidazole 3x400mg/day then 3x500mg/day

Thank you both for your comments.  I will stay away from it.  How about drinking coffee?

My diet is really pretty good, I stay away from all foods unless they are organic.  My main diet consists of meat, veggies some, raw egg drinks*(full of amino acids and sulfa which kills bacteria) coconut oil, olive oil, tomatoes, sometimes green apples, lemons, and lately I have been eating wheat free fig cookies.  Lots of organic spices.  Some coffee lately. Thank you again Chipper

I've been drinking 2 cups of coffee every morning for years. Not as part of any protocol but just because I like it. That's bad? How does that make it grow faster?

Sunnivara, from what I read cafffeine makes adrenals pump out more cortisol. And cortisol/ cortisone makes cpn change from cryptic state to RB state. And by that infections grow much faster. And that is not good espacielly when someone is not on CAP yet. So I just wanted to warn Chipper about this. The ones here that are on CAP and caffeine take caffeine and coffee after morning abx.

Caffeine is not part of the official protocol. I would really advise against taking it. I know you want to treat this bacteria 'naturally', but I just don't see it working without actually taking the antibiotics in the protocol.

Chipper, why don't you take a look at this so you know what the protocol entails....also start reading the CPN handbook, supplements and probiotics are also a very important part of this process .... helps to heal the body.

Sunni, I've drank coffee throughout the whole protocol because I like it too (but am now trying to give it up as I work on cleaning up my diet)

Hi, JeanneRoz - I've been drinking coffee throughout, too, but I think the caffeine tablets are probably way more potent than a cup of coffee. Farandwide will be able to quote the potencies, I'm sure. Image removed.

Mac is right about caffeine tablets being way more potent than even the strongest coffee, much as vitamin c tablets are way more potent than simply eating an orange.       Now, I had only ever taken antibiotics twice before I started on this: once when  was seven and had scarlet fever and once when I had an infected insect bite which made my left leg swell up exponentially.  I was reluctant to start CAP but I did and I was soon more than glad that I did.  When I was younger  was always the healthiest of my friends.  Nearly three years after finishing CAP I can say that again, even though with residual damage I can't run or walk twenty miles or more.  Without antibiotics I might well be dead, my MS was gong downhill so fast.......................Sarah      An Itinerary in Light an Shadow

A number of observational studies have found that coffee consumption is protective against Alzheimer's, which is probably caused by CPn.  So I wouldn't shy away from from a cup or two of coffee.  Pharmacological doses of caffeine - now those I would avoid until there's some solid evidence backing them.

Go for really dark chocolate- 85% cocoa if you can.

I find it gives me some energy- without the downside of coffee
