Bring it on, Again!

I hope everyone is doing well. I see we have some newbies; welcome, you have found a good place here.

I believe my last posting was talking about getting on the Levaquin and off the Septra. Well I was right; it was an insurmountable herx from both. They scarred me to death like I was in pure relapsing hell and had no faith in my LLMD.  For the past 3 weeks I have only been on Doxy and feeling much better. I’m not going to fear the next herx. It’s amazing that I’m well enough to see that they are herxes. Before on the Rifampin, I was too sick to tell if it was a herx because I felt that way all the time. Now I know.

I got to drink a beer or two over the weekend which was nice. It was like seeing an old friend. Over the weekend, I played 5-10 minutes of basketball without feeling like I’m going to faint, swam in the lake, and did some “normal” activities. You know, I say these things because I wouldn’t be doing these things without this website and learning from the knowledge here.

On my pulsing vacation, my joints acted up. Ankles, knees, wrist, fingers, all have given me sharp pains lasting anywhere from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. I told the LLMD yesterday and he said Cat’s Claw. I got a shocked look when I told him (remember I’ve never tested positive but this is a main symptom of Lyme). CC is a natural abx Lymies use. Unfortunately it has the same efficacy as any other abx. I bought a bottle, took three, and “BOOM!” 15 minutes later, another gosh darn herx. The world was swirling…..

So, I’m back on the Septra, which I’m not happy because the Septra herx sucks badly, and continue the CC.

He also told me I’m pre-diabetic! Yeah! If there is one thing out of this mess that I can control, it will be to alter this course. For one, I’m not up for daily injections. Two, I want to change the course of my genetic disposition and lineage (if it does???). Three, I will be fitter and healthier. Four, with the weight loss there will be fewer places for this junk to hide. Right now it’s Disney World for them; I would like to see it as a local roller rink. =)

I’ll see you on the flip side

Still laughing from reading your post!  Funny!

You could take just Doxy and Azithromycin, NAC, and flagyl (when it is time).  Thay way you wouldn't have those massive herxs, maybe.

Your attitude about the weight loss is so sensible.  Type II diabetes with your attitude can probably be avoided, if I understand it.  You certainly don't need more to deal with!  Just be sure to eat lots and lots of fresh cegetables and take all your vitamins and supplements.  Your body will be very busy.

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abx protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxy 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyl 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMS EDSS 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.&am

Hi Christian, I was looking forward to your next update. I finally bit the bullet and decided to see another lyme specialist and do all the IGENX testing.  It is official as I have joined the Bartonella club...not much fun but at least now I can put some of my symptoms in perspective. I'm using the A Bart to start and then moving onto Biaxon and Rifampin combo.

I have heard good things about Septra for Bart. although as you have shared so well..the herxes can be tough. It is one of the top antibiotics used for the treatment of Bartonella.

Thanks for the update and be well.

started Wheldon cap 4/21/08 for Cpn, CMV, EBV, CFS. Cap hold 4/09vascultis. Restart 9/09 with Dr.Powell, restore gut, 4000 D3, supplements,  Pos. Bartonella and Babesia, Rifampin 600 mgs and Biaxon 1 gram.

Hi Munch Man

Cat's Claw....was it TOA free. This is important for Lyme as the regular kind is definitely not recommended. It's a long time since I was using it so can't remember the chemistry.

I was pre-diabetic in 1988, been fairly careful with diet ever since, only the odd pudding/cake binge, very good ingredients of course! So far no problems apart from hypoglycaemia if I go too long without food. It's a very good way to make sure love handles don't develop. If you need any slimming tips...

Loved your comments in your post. You have a great sense of humor. Just a few tips about diet. My naturopath recommended Thorne's Mediclear Plus protein powder. It helps with detoxing the body. I can't say enough good things about it. You can order it from I mix it with some chard, berries, organic flax seed and a little pomegranate juice. Just blend it. It fills you up and will help you loose weight. Eat more protein and avoid sugars and carbs. I know the Cpn diet is heavy on carbs but I find I need more lean protein in my diet. What is your blood type? The blood type diets are helpful. Type 2 can be eliminated by weight loss and diet. Raven

Feeling 98% well-going for 100. Very low test for Cpn. CAP since 8-05 for Cpn/Mycoplasma P.,Lyme, Bartonella, Mold exposure,NAC,BHRT, MethyB12 FIR Sauna. 1-18-11 begin new treatment plan with naturopath

Hey guys,

Sorry for the lateness of my response. I just started my last course in my degree and it's a trial by fire. Zu Zu Momma!!!

Rica, thx for your comments. I'm seeing what my doctor has up his sleeve. So far, I haven't herx although today I'm getting tired but it was a long night last night.

Horses12, Congrats!?!?!? I'm glad you did the antibody test with igenix. Since you have been taking abx already, it makes it harder to find the DNA, therefore a possible false negative. I think I might be encountering that currently. Raven does Abart and really likes it. The Rifampin really helped me.

Hopeful, TOA vs. POA. I saw this on a website and haven't had time to research the difference. I did see a post from someone claiming that CC is manufactured better therefore TOA and POA don't need to be compared(?) anymore... I have no clue what the difference is. I'm taking CC that doesn't say TOA or POA. ????

Raven, I like drinks and will just have to try that one. So far I've already replaced my breakfast with Gluten Free Oatmeal and a fruit. Lunch is salad including a sping mix, bell peppers, purple onion, raddishes, tomatoes, broccoli, advocado, and green onions. All very alkaline foods. I also use Annie's Organic dressing, not too much though.

I won't post again until after August 18th. There will just be madness happening with my work, school, and family; and all the time trying to stay sane.

Started CAP on 06/29/2010 for RRMS. Dx w/ Brevundimonas Vesicularis in Jan '11 hiding in #20 tooth with root canal. Extracted 04/04/2011. Clinically dx with Bartonella at the same time. Recently found MPn.

Abx: 100 mg Doxy bid<

Re CC & TOA free.

5 years ago when I started treatment  my specialist private GP said that it was essential to take TOA free because the regular CC would damaging to Lyme patients.

If I find the explanation I'll post it.

If not labelled TOA free it will be regular CC.
