Books and a Movie

Many times I read for the great pleasure gained and to satisfy my curiousity, but I discovered Greg Mortenson, Three cups of Tea, and now Stones into Schools. Along with wishing the Nobel Prize for Medicine for our cpn crew, I wish the Nobel Peace Prize for Greg Mortenson. And I am hardly ever much affected by movies, but last night we saw "Seven Pounds", with Will Smith, and will probably be affected for the rest of my life.

As for my own cpn protocol against PPMS, I still chip away daily with my five abx plus caffeine. We all tweak and listen and tweak some more, but I seem to have stumbled on a tight turn of the screw, thanks to John (farandwide) and Paul.

I have been taking my first Rifampin on awakening at six AM, Amoxicillin, Doxy, MWF Azithromycin, flagyl forty-five minutes to an hour later, and then two caffeine pills about fifteen to thirty minutes after that. I have been - I think clobbered is a good word. On Azith days, I have been doing some good reading and sleeping. I can't hit this any harder than I am right now. With kidding season sixteen or fewer days away, I feel a really strong need to get as far as I possibly can before "all hell breaks loose", and it's going to.

Thanks Rica, Seven Pounds is available for instant play download on Netflix, I have added it to my instant playlist.  Please keep making suggestions.  Louise

Rica, I often search movies on Netflix by the actor, so I looked under Will Smith.  Up came the 2000 movie the Legend of Bagger Vance, which I put on my long list as it has been 10 years since I have seen it and recall that it was on the inspirational side.

I've not watched Seven Pounds yet but it is on my soon to watch list!  Louise

I couldn't agree more, I loved Seven Pounds too! I also agree about the Nobel Prize for the cpn team, anyway we can do some lobbying?:-)

Diagnosed with MS on March 2009, started CAP on Jan 2010. Doxy 200mg- Roxy 300mg- NAC and all major supplements.

that was a profound movie.  They say Precious is life changing but I haven't seen that one.  I am reading the Sacred Romance & it is definitely life changing for me.

Here's hoping that hell doesn't break loose Rica & all the girls kid breezy easy.

Rica, Thanks for suggesting Seven Pounds, guess it is an older movie and one that I missed when it was out in the theaters.

I may watch it a second time.  Generally I see more the second time I watch a movie.    Now that I have seen it and know the outcome, it could make it even more intense.  I wonder if the DVD version (I saw it instant download) has and out take scenes etc.

It did give me an alternate perspective from which to view organ donation.  And I have not reacted so strongly to a movie in a long time.

Dear Rica,  what is the caffeine doing for you?  and how does it tie into flagyl? where can I find info on this?  Spencer uses caffeine daily to get started....jump start so to speak.... didnt know it could be helpful in maybe another way? or can it?  Thanks Wanda

Wanda,

Until he starts on abx, I would say don't take any caffeine - the reason being that if he has this bug, caffeine just encourages the bug to "come out and play" - and reproduce.  That sounds crazy, but for the last month I have confined my caffeine and coffee intake to fifteen minutes after abx, and have been smacked down as a consequence.  This can only be tied to the halflife of our abx, which turn out to be VERY short.  But my recovery is also speeding up.  I am convinced that we can tighten our response and shorten our time in this hellhole by paying close attention to our schedule.  But we have to get him started first!
