Beginning the journey

I began my CAPi journey on August 10th.  It was such a great feeling to actively be doing something that would not be treating the symptoms but actually get to cause of the illness.

I've now been on doxyi for about a month and a half and wondering if I should be starting azithromycin.  Due to the replies I've gotten from others, I've decided to begin the next step when I see my dr on Oct 2nd.  So far I haven't had any problems with doxy.  I've been taking Lactinex, a strong probiotic, and it has helped me tremendously.

Medical school may still be in my future if I can get back to a 100%. I had to give up the dream 8 years ago when my CFSi started.

Great! At least you'll be

Great! At least you'll be a step ahead of those who know nothing about cpni and refuse to learn. We can use another enlightened doctor!

Thanks Gisela for starting

Thanks Gisela for starting your blog and adding your signature.  Six weeks on Doxyi is that at 200 mg per day?  It is a good idea to discuss adding Azythro with your doctor. Oct. 2 is just next week.  I have been on CAPi for 15 months now for CFSi and after initially having increased fatigue and brain fog, I am now very much improved.  Would you be willing to share a littile about how you became ill and how it has been for these past 8 years?   I will be hoping that with the help of CAP you will be able to get back to a full life.  It sounds like you are doing will with the initial CAP start up.

I am sooo looking forward

I am sooo looking forward to feeling better.  I don't know what "normal" is anymore.  It's difficult to be so ambitious and be able to do so little.  Yes we do need more enlightened drs.  My father is a physician and is one of the most narrow minded ones I've ever met.  He hasn't lifted a finger to help me, but that's just my dad.  I know that I could make such a huge difference in people's lives as a physican.  I would specialize in immunology.  I absolutely believe that this is my calling.

I am on 100mg of doxyi right now...I'll have to add that onto my signature.  I am very blessed that it has been going well so far.  I was prepared for the worst.  I will have to write about my whole 8 years of hell with CFS  ha ha.  I have faith that this will get me back to normal...whatever that is :)

Thanks

Gisela

Hello Gisela,what is

Hello Gisela,

what is normal??  I have been getting to the point where I was bedridden a few years ago for quite some time.

I think what happens though, is, as Rica puts it, you see little openings in windows of well being.  This is encouraging as you then see how well you can be.  At times, those windows slam shut with an appendage in the way, ouchh!

I am not done yet, but I hope I can get most of my health back.  How much permanent damage is done I do not know!

I think, with your background, you will make a fine immunologist! going about your business expecting the unexpected, knowing, there is just more to learn!

Best wishes for your recovery!

peace

Ruthless1,I'm sorry to hear

Ruthless1,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been getting to that point.  A few years ago I was almost there.  I had a little boy to take care of.  That was so hard.  He was so active and wanted to go outside all the time and play and I wanted to stay and bed and do nothing.  I got better after a while.  Don't know why to this day.

I used to live on the Sask-Alberta border.  We still have good friends there.
