Anyone doing fortnightly 2-day Tini pulsing?

And if so, does it leave you with any time for a "breather" and to "see the light" before going into the next pulse?

Having read  "Little Women", I  think I know what fortnightly means. (Because Meg went away for a fortnight, and I had to figure out what that meant.) Wink  It's not a term commonly used in the U.S., though. So, MSWife, I believe you're saying your husband is doing a two day long pulse every two weeks?

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems. Mohandas Gandhi

What was the reason that two day pulses be continued and the frequency increased? The protocol calls for increasing the duration so adding a third day to the pulse and keeping it every three weeks or even moving further apart to every 4 weeks and increasing eventually to 4 to 5  days would give more time to recoop from the cryptic/cystic breaking effects.  There may be some value in lengthening the Tini pulses particularly if there are bacterial species involved that require a longer duration to break the cystic phase.  It is really very difficult to be sure what bacterial strains one is harboring with so many false negatives and the expense of testing not to mention availability in some contries.  It may be best to consider what covers the most bases for the meds that we take.

MS: First sx '93 dx '09 no obvious relapses just steady decline since '07. Crippling fatigue, too weak to sit up for extended periods of time. Cane/walkers/electric chair inside, helicopter outside. Started protocol 11/16/13.  1200mg N

The idea of pulsing metronidazole or tinidazole came from David in order to give people a break from continually taking such a tough drug.  They are both something that you can do that with, unlike rifampicin especially, which has to be taken continuously. There is no rule that it has to be taken for five days every three weeks so two days every fortnight is fine.......................SarahA Journey through Light and Shadow

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.
