My cat seems to be fascinated with the NAC capsules. When I set down the four I need to swallow plus the other capsules I take, she tries to swipe one of the NAC. She's not interested in Alpha Lipoic Acid or CoQ10.  When I shoo her away, she goes to the  NAC bottle (lid on) to knock it over..

Betsy, read this page by Ray Sahelian, MD to help you discern why your cat is crazy about NAC.  It was found in 2004 to alleviate fatigue in prolonged exercise (J Appl Physiol. 2004) plus it has been found to reverse age related problems in prematurely ageing mice! At a member's suggestion, I gave the cat about 1/100 of a 600mg capsule: sprinkled it on soft cat food. She chowed down where the NAC had been sprinkled , leaving the rest for our other cat. BUT, she returned to the bag where I had saved the remainder of the NAC, so I sprinkled some moe NAC powder on a paper plate. She took a HUGE lick, made an awful face, and laid down beside the plate. This morning I gave her some more. Guess she'll be taking her supps when I do. Who knew?Sarah, thank you for the research citation.

Sorry Betsy, I left the link out of the last post, so here it is: http://www.raysahelian.com/acetylcysteine.html .......................SarahA Journey through Light and Shadow

Hi. Sarah,Thank you for the "ink."  I had planned to study the site today anyway, but the color saved a little time. I read it all including the comments.  Kat and I took our supplement(s) together again today. She snatched a whole capsule and was chewing it.. I had to pry open her mouth to get it. I was afraid 600 mgs were too much for 10 lbs of body weight.Ya gotta LOVE this site!Smile    ESPECIALLY its members.    Again, thanx All!

Sorry again Betsy for my typing error this time: I try touch typing then forget to check it.  Checking the ink might be quite appropriate for my new project:  I should have left it.......................SarahA Journey through Light and Shadow
