Wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to juggle the CAP protocol combined with specific food intake/restrictions recommendations in a 24 hour period...Especially when I add in metronidazole at pulse time, which is to be taken with food 3 X per day, I face a bit of a conundrum (spelling?)...
I'm taking the standard doxy 100 mg 2 X per day, and 250 mg azithromycin on M, W, and F. I am also taking lumbrokinase and di-sodium EDTA twice a day for biofilm inhibition which was found to be implicated in long-standing intersititial cystitis (in my particular case). These last two supplements are to be taken on an empty stomach and ideally no food for 2 hours afterwards. I usually take these 2 supps 1/2 hour before the antibiotics (daily doxy) as recommended by a nurse practitioner and naturopath. So M, W, and F I take the lumbro and EDTA around 1 pm and 1 am, on empty stomach, followed by the doxy (and azith on M, W, F noon only) within 1/2 hour, then refrain from eating for about 1.5 more hours.
Problem is when I add in the metronidazole which recommends taking with food, and having to take it 3 times a day. Having done only one full pulse so far, I tried doing the Flagyl at 6 pm with dinner, 3 am (get up in the night and force down some food with it trying not to wake up too much), then again at 10/11 am with a snack. The 3:00 a.m. one is a bit awkward food-wise. Does anyone have any creative suggestions? Does the 3:00 a.m. dose really need to be taken with food or can it be washed down with water only? Would taking it without food reduce effectiveness or cause stomach trouble? Oh, and then during the pulse I have been throwing in the charcoal just before bed at 11:00 too, 2 hours away from food and abx.
Any creative ideas would be most welcome! Should have studied mathematical alorithms in school...Regards, Len
