I think my only reaction was a runny nose.  For a few hours, I had that achey feeling in the back of my legs that you get as the flu is coming on, but it passed and that was about it. You've been diagnosed with MS, right?  Have you had a CPn test done?

Yes MS, with MRI showing multiple brain lesions and a massive spinal one on C3.No CPn test done, two specialists laughed and declined.

Maybe your fellow countrymen can direct you to a more cooperative specialist. Cool (One of the reasons I love this website is how it connects so many people and so much information.)I wouldn't worry much about the NAC reaction.  Many of us treated empirically, based on our symptoms or diagnosed illnesses, and the treatment worked for us. Keep an eye on your private mailbox here; hopefully, someone can match you up with a doctor who understands this bacteria.

AussieGuyMy feeling is always "Go for it!"  We who have a diagnosis, and many who don't, can look ahead to increasing disability and oblivion.  I was never tested but obviously was sinking at an ever-increasing rate - and almost made it to oblivion.  It is probably ok there, but here is much more interesting.Rica

3/9 Symptoms returning. Began 5 abx protocol 5/9 Rifampin 600, Amox 1000, Doxy 200, MWF Azith 250, flagyl 1000 daily. Began Sept 04 PPMS EDSS 6.7 Now good days EDSS 1 Mind, like parachute, work only when open. Charlie Chan  In for the duration.&am

AussieGuy, Rica is right: go for it!  All I got was a rather runny nose.  Oblivion might be an OK place but here I can draw and paint and watch the spring clouds scudding past.................Sarah  Journey through Light and Shadow

FM & chronic myofascial pain 2000; Cpn; EBV; lead poisoning; CAP since Jan 2009; Flagyl pulses & Azi M/W/F from Mar 2009; now also Cymbalta; Rivotril; Low Dose Naltrexone; Doxy.  Pain-free and heading upwards again.

My wife showed no reaction at first either.  I had bought some NAC at the local pharmacy but they only had a partial bottle.  We used them up (about 20 pills) without reaction.  I then ordered some from the Puritains Pride via the internet and when she started taking those it was a few days before anything happened.

All recommended Sups from Sup list; NAC 2400mg, Doxy 200mg, Azith. 250mg m-w-f, Bladder control Oxibutinin, Vesicare, Blood pressure Lisinipril, Cymbalta 60mg

I've also sent a PM for AussieGuy. We're showing Under our Skin on June 1 here in Brisbane and will have 3 medicos discussing chronic infections etc. Hopefully AussieGuy you'll find your PM's!!It's a shame there's no way of alerting people to their emails and replies. On the Marshall Protocol, you get an automatic notification when someone replies or PM's you. We're still trying to connect with Debra and pass on some positive news for her

G'day Aussieguy,For info, I was on 2400mg of NAC for two weeks straight with no reaction whatsoever. So I don't know if I have CPn judging by the lack of reaction. When seeing a neurologist for a few brain lesions here in NSW I insisted on testing for CPn and Lyme disease both of which came back negative. I don't think they can refuse to test for it if a patient demands it, not sure. If you back it up with a logical argument it should be done. Failing that, find the fastest, dodgy-est quack you can find and bamboozle them with terminology till they write the test up. I even write it down for them so they get the spelling correct. All the best, let us know how you go.Goldy
