Saturday has now devolved into the day I take stock of my progress and make any changes. I've now reached the full dosage for the abxi and increased to 1800mg for NAC. I have no major effects to report, is that good - is it bad - toss for it. However I seem to be trying to work my way through the entire gamut of minor unpleasant effects - tingling feet and hands, restless left leg, muscle pain, small rash on chest, some facial flushing, upset stomach and high pitched ringing in my ears - par for the course. If it wasn't for this site, I'd have myself put down.
On the plus side, my writing and typing are getting slightly better, off and on. My balance remains better but is not improving any but it is really early days after all. A strange effect is that a bad scalp condition I've had since I was young (large amounts of white flakes) seems to be improving.
My fatigue level remains the same and I was reminded of that quite strongly. I spent 2½ hrs mixing cement (yes - I know!) on Wednesday as my brother and I are renovating a house. I was told about my mistake by a sharp slap on the back of my head and I've spent the rest of the week recovering.

Robert - Congratulations and
Robert - Congratulations and may your treatment always go easily and with good results! You are off to a strong start!
The flaking scalp referred to in this post is usually caused by a fungal/yeast infection - pityrosporum . Now before you or others possibly freak out - almost everyone whether they are flaking or not has pityrosporum living on the skin of the scalp. The problem becomes when the yeast overgrows and this is what may lead to the scalp flaking (dandruff) or flaking of other areas of skin (eyebrows/beard/etc...).
When the skin is inflammed (pink/raised, etc...) plus flaking then you have a fancier name - seborrhoeic dermatitis - it's all still usually excess yeast though.
An underperforming immunei system such as one paralyzed by cell wall deficient stealth pathogens can allow the yeast to overgrow.
As your immune system re regulates then the yeast is brought back under control - usually quiet naturally and the flaking then stops. There are other things that can also cause the yeast to overgrow but the bottom line - it's a yeast. A fungus among us, if you will pardon the pun. This could also be true for "jock itch" and "athletes foot" also caused by a yeast/fungus.
So if yours is already resolving, your immune system may be improving as a possible theory!
A very inexpensive and usually quiet effect solution for skin yeast is Grapefruit Seed Extract applied in a diluted solution. I like to put about 15 to 20 drops in two ounces (60ml) of bottled water. Shake up and then apply liberally to scalp or skin until problem disappears. Usually there is massive improvement within 24 to 48 hours. If the Grapefruit Seed Extract solution doesn't resolve the problem within a week or if the problem becomes worse - of course stop and go see a dermatologist. If the skin is broken/open sores or is painful of course go see the dermatologist first but if you just have classic dandruff/scalp flaking - you might try the inexpensive Grapefruit Seed Extract solution.

Good start Robert, I sure hope things continue smoothly for you.
Daisy, thanks for the information on pityrosporum, one of the last symptoms I had before starting the ABXi, was a flaking scalp. It had never occured before and led to more denuding, and until I started the protocol three months later there was no hair regrowth, just more flakes than hair. All gone now...

Thanks for the kind welcome folks. I've joined a rather exclusive but welcoming and supportive club where nobody in reality wants to be. These past weeks have seemed like climbing the first pitch and now I've reached the first plateau and hopefully I can now just get on with it.
Thanks for the info Daisy, I've tried everything for years, but not Grapefruit seed extract. I'll give it a go.
